Summer is always a good excuse to throw down a mix, and right now I’m extra-inspired as I get ready to head to Asia where I’ll be touring with Maylee Todd in Tokyo and stopping over in Hong Kong to visit the fams.
Like everything I do, this mix covers a lot of ground. It’s got fresh future classics by Paul Hill, DJ Day, Omar, and Romare. On the vintage tip, you’ll hear some of my childhood faves like Prince, George Benson, Sugarhill Gang, and The Style Council that reminds me of those hot summer days in HK in the 80s. From my label, we’ve got the Whiskey Barons’ remix of new Do Right signee The Spandettes (stay tuned for their upcoming 7” release), and a fantastic Martino mix of Maylee. Rounding it out is some classic Brit-funk from China Burton, the don of Brazilian boogie Marcos Valle. And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper summer mix without Mark Pritchard’s timeless remix of “Lately” by Massive Attack.
Enjoy the mix, and here’s to Summer in the City wherever you are!
