Brazilian DJ and digger Helio Pelosi is the unofficial pusherman of DJs looking for long-forgotten musical nuggets from the land of Caetano Veloso, Marcos Valle and Ronaldinho. From hidden gems of Brazilian hip hop to obscure carioca funk and jazz, Helio Pelosi’s collection and sets are a ride not to miss.
Helio Pelosi started digging records since 2000. From 7 inches to LPs, he has built a collection of vinyl’s of 50s until 80s Brazilian music.
A Berlin resident since 2009, Helio Pelosi soon became dubbed as the Ambassador of Brazilian music thanks to his parties Jazz Samba Hip Hop Bossa Nova at Astra Kulturhaus and Cooking Brazilian Beats.
Eager to unveil how incredibly rich, diverse and fun the repertoire of Brazilian music really is, he is regularly invited to deliver some Brazilian groove to clubs and festivals across Europe, notably through a residence with Soho House clubs.
He recently started a mix series called Sambaia with Istanbul’s indie radioYear Zero radio.
