This set is dedicated in memory of the legendary Don Cornelius. Mr Cornelius has changed the world, not just the industry, by uplifting black artists. He also had such an ability to hear such soul elements in music outside of R&B and would capture such performers on stage to be recognized, bringing the world closer together through music appreciation. Whether the special guest would be The Spinners, Elton John, The Isley Brothers or Incubus. Whether it was The JB's "Monaurail" or Van Halen's Jump played during the Soul Train Line segment. You automatically knew it wasn't just soul music, but simply GOOD music. And this set, I hope, reflects how soul continues to affect us all. Because we may not all have "soul," but we all have a soul. Don Cornelius knew how to bring it out of us, no matter how different we tend to express it.
