I am a carbon based life form.
Complex and poorly understood, the brain is what makes everything work properly. The body may be kept alive, but without the brain, a person can’t truly live.
My brain doesn’t feel pain: Even though my brain processes pain signals, my brain itself does not actually feel pain.
My brain has huge oxygen needs: My brain requires 20 percent of the oxygen and calories my body needs — even though my brain only makes up two percent of my total body weight.
Instead of being relatively solid, my brain is 80% water. This means that it is important that I remain properly hydrated for the sake of my mind.
My brain comes out to play at night: You’d think that my brain is more active during the day, when the rest of my body is. But it’s not. My brain is more active when I sleep.
