It starts with the rhythm...as a bass player I really love that more and more producers go back in time using real drums, percussion and guitar played bass lines....compared to just composing with a computer software....it is just not the same!
Often people are surprised when I tell I am a deejay and they ask me: what would you play when you would get the chance in front of a real big audience? Well I would play this type of music. A bit of instrumental cool house to warm up the audience and gradually mixing in more vocals and refurbished hits from the 80's/90's.
The Circle of Life refers to when being a young boy, I really wanted to pursue a career as a musician. But my dad disagreed and convinced me to finish a good education and find a 'real' job. I did. Worked all my life and built a successful company. It was nice, challenging and brought me quite some wealth. But over the last years, I realised that my real joy is in music. So I may retire someday soon and follow my passion.
