Sydneysider Dalin Hamiltons encounter with Japan was unexpected. The volunteer work Dalin applied for when he was 19 years old sent him there regardless of his wish to stay in Australia. Dalin learned Japanese from scratch and has obtained a good command of it. As he utilises his Japanese well at his work, Dalin was invited to Careers in Language Fair- Japanese in Sydney last year as a guest speaker to share his experience with students learning Japanese. Now Dalin is a graduate student studying foreign policy and hoping to become a bridge between Australia and Japan by the time of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Dalin shares his experience both at the language fair and in Japan and explains how he fell in love with the country he knew so little about.
Next Careers in Language Fair- Japanese will be held on the 8th of August in Sydney.(ボランティア活動で思いがけず日本に派遣された、シドニーのダリン・ハミルトンさん。
