Living on the Cornish Border

Living on the Cornish Border

Forget the hype over the Scottish and British border, what about the one between England and Cornwall. Following the Government's recent recognition of Cornish culture as a minority national identity that should be protected, the region's pride has had a significant boost. So what is it like living just 10 minutes over the border? Bude is the first town in the county of Cornwall once you leave Devon and it is very proud of its Cornish heritage. Despite it being the first town, it’s not one you’d pass through by accident. Situated on the west coast the town is quite remote to the rest of the county and requires a drive that takes you to few other locations. So why is it worth travelling that extra awkward 30 minutes, down the A39, to visit the out of the way sea side town and what makes it so inherently Cornish? We begin on Crooklets Beach in Bude, with resident Dawn Robinson.
