Jonathan Evelegh

This is a fabulous mix! Thanks, Jamie. Sorry you had to have bad times, so to speak, to inspire it. Stay strong!

Jonathan Evelegh

The first time I posted this an ad came up for a grocery store and so I posted again. So now it's a double good mix.

Jamie Renton

Thanks Jonathan, glad you like it.

Top selection!
But...
It's Jeb Loy, not Leb Joy... unless that's a tribute act...

Jamie Renton

Thanks Seb. "Leb Joy" is how he's listed on the album I took the track from . A compilation on On-U-Sound. I think it's either a joke or a contractual thing, as the track is from a planned Adrian Sherwood produced Jeb Loy album which has yet to see the light of day PS Good to hear his version of Hard Times on your WOMAD mix btw

Similarly, I first discovered it as a cover on a Mike Henderson & The Bluebloods album!

Love it Jamie, great stuff. Especially liked the Freddie King track.

Jamie Renton

Thanks Rob, that Freddie King track is a good one. I first discovered it via the cover on Robert Cray's first album.

Neville Holness

Yes I have some of the Souljazz tracks think they did a pharaoh cover which I have somewhere

Jamie Renton

SJO have done a lot of good stuff and are very well worth seeing live.

Neville Holness

Wicked Jamie and you featured Isley fight the power the 5 th I ever brought , great mix diverse quality all the way through !

Jamie Renton

Thanks Nev, glad you enjoyed it. That Isleys track is completely of its time and yet somehow timeless! what do you think of Souljazz Orchestra? Do you know their music/

Nick Hider

Great selections! Particularly liked the Isley Bros/Sugar Minott segue.

Jamie Renton

Thanks Nick. Glad you enjoyed the Isleys to Sugar move. I was also particularly pleased with the jump from London Afrobeat Collective to Stevie Wonder
