Friday Night Street Jam w/Funkmaster Flex Hot 97 WQHT June 11, 1993

Playing tracks by

Funkmaster Flex, The Flip Saquad, Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Onyx, Showbiz & Ag and more.

Chart positions

This show was 17th in the global hip hop chart.

Flex has Big Daddy Kane and Mister Cee up as guests (58:04) (65:10) (76:27) on this one. Mister Cee even does a guest DJ set (80:24). Crazy to hear Cee shout out “an artist he’s working with named Biggie Smalls” (78:25) as well as Kane say the same thing about “working with Sauce (Money) from Marcy Projects” (77:27). Both who would go on to do big things. Then Flex goes into a reggae set (101:03) before wrapping up the show with guests Todd Terry and CJ Mackintosh who were just hanging out (122:20). Seems like I paused tape a couple sections of this as I noticed a couple songs are missing when they recap what they played. Great time in music and so cool to listen back to relive what was going on at that moment.

Thank you very much Eclipse for uploading these taped shows, growing up in the 90's but in Eastern Europe I couldn't even imagine what a hip hop radio show sounded like, glad to discover this 20+ years later
