Soil Talks - recorded on the farm over a few months during UN's International Year of Soil 2015

'Soil Talks' - Presenters Sean and Helen Butler from Hillside Organic Farm in Brideswell will guide listeners through the growing year aided by guest speakers, Paula Sharkey herbalist, John Brennan, an organic food activist and Suzanne Dempsey, who is Environmental Officer in Roscommon County Council.
Importance of healthy soil for agro-ecology, food waste, the role of the tiger worm role.
The programme is also enriched by a contribution from the storyteller Johnny Johnston, who recalls old Irish customs as well as a recitation of ‘The Ploughman’ by P Kavanagh.
The leaders and the participants of the Junction Project in Ballinasloe also share their life changing experience on the show building a tunnel and allotments, planting vegetables in the ground and potatoes in the tyres.
