In August 2015, Lina Afessa, Nidal and Rafael - a family - decided to leave war-driven Damascus and head to Poland. Eight families were welcomed in Poznan.
Lina and Nidal's son, Rafael, was the hardest one to convince. He didn't want to leave Syria where all of his family used to live. Including his brother, who's still there. But for Rafa, it was also about his church. He used to serve in the Nazarene Church.
