In many Indian States and regions marriage abroad is status symbol. Sometimes such marriages (Shaadiyan) are taken as an easy way out to enter a foreign country for a comfortable life and lucrative future. Sometimes these foreign dreams come at a cost of innocent lives and the future of the spouses who travel to a foreign land along with these NRIs. In some cases they do not even survive and that sadly brings us to Purvi Joshi's story who was brutally stabbed July 30th, 2013 out of jealousy by Manisha Patel .
Marrying an NRI is pretty much something attractive to parents in India or Pakistan for that matter, Indian/Pakistani girls suffer so much here, they go beyond what there heart is set to and agree on coming to Pardes.
