Music theme: Mum's fave music (mainly 70s and 80s)
After two failed attempts at tackling racism and feminism with two different sets of guests (the first due to technical difficulties, the second due to a last min cancellation), my ever-dependent mum - who tries to steer clear of public speaking wherever possible! - came to the rescue to give me my first live interview. Hero!
We discuss her 42 years living in the UK and how it's changed her as a person. How she's managed to balance her identities in having Indian roots, being British by nationality and following Islam. What she loves about each of those identities and where certain traditions have failings. And yes, racism and feminism too.
Super proud of her, opening up like this on a public platform. And super grateful.
