This is the 210th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show. This latest show is a return to my review of the musical year of 2016 – you’ve heard my countdown of my 30 favourite albums of last year, but now here’s a chance to hear the best of the rest – some great albums, EPs, singles & tracks that didn’t make the top 30 but still deserve to be heard. There’s no feature album this time but you can expect a typically eclectic musical mix. If you want more details about the show past & present, including weblinks to where you can find more information about each artist, and the previous 209 episodes, go to

Hi Ian,

I’ve really been enjoying your shows.

I hope it's Ok to write this here but I haven't found another way to contact you - I also have a band that plays rather unusual music to which I‘d like to introduce you. We’re called Sproingg; we’ve just released our debut CD and are fresh from very successfully playing a local festival here in Germany.

Sproingg's music is variously described as:
· Space-Punk-Psychedelic
· Polyrhythmic-prog-chaos
· Dramatic, jazz and classically influenced rock
· Music your mother would not allow you to listen to

We’re on Bandcamp at: and facebook at:
If you are interested I’d be happy to send you a complimentary high-quality download of our music or the actual CD (or both).
Even if you are not interested, thanks so much for the great music.

Hi Erik, Thanks for your message. Just to let you know that I won't be playing much new (i.e. 2017) music over the next few months because I'll be doing assorted themed shows, interviews, reviews of last year, etc. So I will have a proper listen to your debut album, but I probably won't ask for a copy until later in the year, if that's okay. Best wishes, Ian

Hi Ian,
Thanks for getting back to me, I understand completely. Just let me know when you'd like to receive a CD or download link and I'll be happy to send. In the meantime, I'm very much looking forward to those shows you mentioned!

Another really good one - does not disappoint!!

Thanks again, Erik. Glad you enjoyed. Any tracks that stood out as favourites?

Erik Feder

I thought "Order from Chaos" was great. "The Black Hooded Clam" was also very cool. And any time you play any VDGG, I'll be into it.
That being said, I can hear bands like VDGG, Crimson, etc pretty easily. What's great about this show is al the new stuff you play - for me that's what radio is really all about, I don't just want to hear my favorites, but also be exposed to new things.
