Chart positions

This show was 35th in the global folk chart.

This show is dedicated to Nanci Griffith, with Love.

This week we have new music by Willie Nile from his Friday release "The Day The Earth Stood Still" plus new music by Squirrel Flower from June and Torres and Yola, from the same day, two weeks ago. There was a surprise release from guitar wizard Ty Segall on Friday entitled "Harmonizer" and the first new record under a new name for the folk/bluegrass duo "Watchhouse" as well.

AJ Lee & Blue Summit released a song ahead of their upcoming release called "I'll Come Back" and Indie Songwriter Laura Stevenson released her first new album in seven years. The Killers released a new album on Friday called "Pressure Machine" and we'll also take a look at the album of Dylan covers by Chrissie Hynde that came out in May and the new critically acclaimed record from Leon Bridges called Gold-Diggers Sound.

Rest in peace, Nanci Griffith.

I think Mandolin Orange is back. Sorry, I do not get why the name is inappropriate at all. I don't agree with Marco at all. It does not sound culturally insensitive. In fact, most of the explanations I read online do not give cultural insensitivity as the reason why they changed their name. The new name makes me think of the Watchtower folds who used to come door-to-door to recruit converts. But this is all a distraction. The new song is the best they have put out in a while.

"Feel Good" was super cool. The guitar was a lot of fun.
