NeW IDoLs, 99 Hanover St, Edinburgh (4th July): Part I

Playing tracks by

Fern Kinney, Donna Summer, Anna, ORS, Tina Turner and more.

It's amazing what a good holiday, a bit of sunshine and some decent R&R can do for your head living on this miserable island of ours. After a fortnight away, I enjoyed creating this set 100% on Wednesday eve and I think it turned out well too.

It's very much on a 'slo-mo' tip, to use the parlance of our times for a warm-up/bar vibe (i.e. it's all around 80 - 100 bpm).

Loads of old faves: Donna Summer's immortal State Of Independence, Anna, ORS, Villa's crafty re-edit of Tina Turner's Can't Stand The Rain (topical, yes), Primal Scream (from the legendary Screamadelica album), Carly Simon's Why (Nile Rogers prod - killer!), Sade's Paradise, DFA remixing The Chemical Bros and a re-edit of an obscure glam-rock stomp by Ace Frehley...

NeW IDoLs from: Double Hill, Joyce/Clam's Casino, Pablo/Andrew Weatherall, Ford & Lopatin/Peaking Lights and gallic dons Justice...

Hope you dig.
