Hong Kong Beat mobile disco celebrates the 88th Oscars with 'A Night At The Oscars Chart Hits'

The 88th Academy Awards for Best Picture will be made February 28th 2016. If the award was based on the great hit tunes contained in the movie, then The Martian would surely get my vote this year just for the inclusion of Bowie's 'Starman'.

So, this set isn’t about original scores, but about chart hitting tunes from movies that went on to win the Best Motion Picture Award.

Surprisingly, given that the Oscars are almost 100 years old, there is a quite limited number of movies that used popular tracks, or produced tunes that were or went onto become chart hits, though some movies, like Forrest Gump, are almost collections of hit music.

So choosing just one well known track from each of just 19 movies - we go from iconic fanfares, to bluesy rock, jazz, punk rock, mainstream pop, show tunes, and to the dance floor with Hong Kong Beat’s ‘A Night at the Oscars Hits’.
