1) A City on a Hill is called to live differently, or peculiarly. (Exodus 19:5-6) To stand out as examples of Christ.
2) A City on a hill shows their good works. (Matthew 5:18). Jesus's first works where His miracles. Our works are to live differently; turn the other check.
3) A city on a Hill is a light I both day and night. House made of limestone, reflecting light by day; lamps by night to attract travelers.
4) A City on a Hill shows Hospitality. Hospitality only applies to when a stranger is involved. The City on a Hill was designed for travelers. The would host strangers in their home. We need to orient our lives around the stranger.
