This Sunday we start a new series leading up to Easter called “Famous Last Words.” No one can deny the power of the words we speak. But there is something especially weighty about a person’s last words in this life. As Jesus was giving up His life on Good Friday, He made several short statements from the cross. What would He want to say to us in those final hours? These were not wasted words; they were measured and meaningful. They are words of mercy, forgiveness, hope, and triumph. And if we will receive them, His final words are our new beginning.
