Arthur topped the charts in 1968 with the song Fire (covered by The Prodigy and Jerry Dammers) produced by the Who's producer Kit Lambert (along with Pete Townshend). The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (the album) on Track Records remains a benchmark in UK recording history. It is quite simply a classic! Arthur also starred as The Preacher in Ken Russell's film version of the Who's 'Rock Opera' Tommy in 1975. After this Arthur formed Kingdom Come (in the early 1970's) and goes down in history as the first recording artiste to utilise a drum machine. Technology has always fascinated Arthur. In 1984/5 Arthur worked with the Sugarcubes producer Craig Leon, and again was the first person to record an album with new technology in the shape of the the groundbreaking Fairlight. Arthur appeared at RAY DAVIES' MELTDOWN at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on June 10th 2011 Part 2 Here Henry Scott-irvine - Producer
