Tear It Up! 48 Minutes Of Funk At 45rpm From Larry Grogan!

SoulSistas And SoulBruthas! About 5yrs ago while desperately looking for an obscure SOUL song that was out of print and had never been issued on CD, I ran across Larry Grogan's blog, Funky 16 Corners. To my delighted surprise, there the song was along with a label scan and detailed history. Right then I thought, this is fantastic, I'm starting a blog of my own. I'm gonna seriously get out there and dig for records. I'm gonna be just like this guy. Well, no one is like Larry Grogan!!! He's one of the premier Soul/Funk archivists in the world. Whatever it is that I do is a pale imitation of what he is the master of.

To keep Funky 16 Corners the amazing resource it is, Larry invites some of the best diggers in the world over for a "mix" pledge drive to support the site . If you're a lover of Soul and vinyl, please pop over and donate a few dollars for this fantastic archive. http://www.funky16corners.com/?p=2869

Here's Larry's ace FUNK 45rpm mix for the event!

Peace and SOUL...

When 'comparing CD Collections with my Partner.
I asked him if he had any Funk & he pulled out a CD called 'Evolution of The Groove' - full of names I'd never heard of.
He said he partly bought it 'coz he liked the cover' - it was full of this sorta stuff.
This kinda funk sounds raw and like the 'Live' Version is roughly the same 'the record'.
I love it - It just sounds like a 'Live Band' - like something that'd pop up in a Q Tarentino Movie.
Not Bad for a 1st choice here !
