SoulSistas And SoulBruthas! I was driving past my old childhood/teenage shopping mall the other day and noticed they had started tearing it down. It was called "Cloverleaf Mall" but we'd affectionately refer to it as, "The Leaf" whenever we'd set up a meet there. It's been empty for years and I probably haven't been in it for about 20 years. But, it sure tore my heart up a bit to see this symbol of my youth getting the wrecking ball.

Got so many great memories of that place. We lived right across the street, so we'd just walk right over. As the 80's started, we'd go there & Break Dance, no one would throw us out. I saw "Beat Street" there & the audience all started breakin' right there after it was over. I'd go to the leather clothing store and dream of getting a Michael Jackson "Beat It" jacket. Had my first kiss there. NICE!

So here's a tribute with tunes you'd hear on the same station back then blasting from our boom box on the walk to "The Leaf"

Peace and SOUL,
HSB

Great mix and great story. I guess we grew up at nearly the same time ;-) Lots of memories for me too.

Oh yes, some great memories here! I think we all need a place of memories like 'The Leaf' in our lives.

The Tracks are great and the Story behind it is touching. I had the same feeling when they tore the Disco down were we hang out as Youngbloods. Bigup from Cologne.
