The relationship between the media and politics has the potential to be incredibly volatile, as politicians, parties and policies are scrutinised at every opportunity by those whose who could sway public opinion in one byline. Is there such a thing as bi-partisan reporting? Are all politicians just soundbite machines? Are the media too harsh on elected officials? BBC Question Time Editor, Nicolai Gentchev, discusses the complex relationship between politicians and the media and answers questions about his experience working in political media.
Nicolai Gentchev, BBC Question Time
Nicolai is the current editor of the BBC's Question Time, a position he took upon its relocation to Glasgow in 2011. Following his graduation from the University of Glasgow, Nicolai worked in print journalism and for Bloomberg news before serving as a producer on the Today programme for BBC Radio 4, as well as editor of Good Morning Scotland.
