Playing tracks by
Ben Buitendijk, Johnny Island, Alex Falk, DJ Vague, Blackhall and Bookless and more.
I like disruption. If my DJ set disrupts something if it stops the flow or a pattern of the programming ... it's great. I often talk about a DJ mix being a balance of predictability and surprise. Throughout my career, I was always seen as a DJ going against the local trends - from Cyprus to Toronto. There’s always a trend going on but if you play what everyone else is playing, how will you stand out from the crowd? When I have someone come up to me and say “what is that track… it is so dope” or whatever to that effect it is like having all the hard work of digging deep for good music and spending your rent money on records all worth it! But you know what they say about good jazz; it ends abruptly.
