The culture and community of comics became a core interest from my teens well into adulthood. Saturdays at Music Exchange and Clint's Books & Comics in Kansas City became a weekly ritual. In the 80's, with post-punk to industrial to acid house to techno to ambient records in my DJ bag and Frank Miller's Daredevil and The Dark Knight scorching my imagination, exploring both extreme and serene possibilities became my creative vision. FFWD: New York City. A Manhattan to Brooklyn subway ride brought me face to face with Emmy award winning artist Dean Haspiel whose work includes superhero and semi-autobiographical comics (Spider-Man, Batman, X-men, Cyclops, The Thing, Deadpool, Spider-Girl, Godzilla, Mars Attacks, American Splendor), and graphic novels with Harvey Pekar and Jonathan Ames. Tech-noir: Trip City Session II is inspired by and dedicated to the creative cabal behind the Brooklyn-filtered, multimedia, literary arts salon he helped establish. (tripcity.net).
