FREAK-A-ZOIDS - MIXED BY GREG WILSON FOR PICCADILLY RADIO MANCHESTER 1983

Playing tracks by

Class Action.

One of Greg Wilson's mixes, recorded for for Manchester's Piccadilly Radio in September 1983 - this included what Peter Hook of the band New Order described as 'Ingenious. The first mash-up'. It was Wilson's coupling of the acappella from Rockers Revenge's 'Walking On Sunshine' with New Order's 'Confused Beats' (a mix from their 'Confusion' 12"), something that Hook would have first heard him do at The Hacienda, where he DJ'd at the time this mix was recorded, along with his main club nights of the era, Legend in Manchester and Wigan Pier.
