Divine Chord Gospel Show pt. 41

Divine Chord Gospel Show pt. 41

Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global vinyl chart, 2nd in the global northern soul chart, 15th in the global soul chart and 20th in the global funk chart.

Here's the 41st installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on

Over the last few months, I've been stockpiling a selection of heavy hitting, rare 45's that given the right exposure, will appeal to any dancefloor worldwide. The first section this month focus's on 7 original cuts that are complete far. Raw soul music, freshly discovered!

For pt. 2, we feature a slew of amazing downtempo, sweet and ultra deep 45's. Check the sublime offering from The Vigilights as well as the killer from the United Voices out of South Carolina. And the stone cold tremelo guitar of the Silver Wings...outstanding!

And for pt. 3, we head to stepper territory once again. A series of slower tempo tunes designed for the later dancefloor spots....intro'd by the smooth funk of the first 3 cuts, before crossing it out with the mighty Revival. But just wait for The Gospel Angelics!!

GB, I have passed you onto a friend who has recently lost someone in her life. If your collections don't bring her back, I don't know what will. Thank you for all your work to bring soul to the people. :)

Once again, thanks so much for your excellent critique on this broadcast, Jas.....really appreciate the time and effort you take in thoroughly breaking down each track and listening to the whole mix. FYI 'Talkset' is a brief break in play that I do on the live broadcast to make some announcements and suchlike. Where possible, I always like to re-record the set for Mixcloud without my voice, to let the music be the the 'Talkset' is really just a header for the set parts within the show. Cheers sir!

Thx Greg for explaining ‘Talkset’ – I’ll have to try to catch one of your live broadcasts.
I love all types of music particularly 70’s soul and funk, however, these Gospel tracks have something magical – they have captured something that you can’t easily pin-point. I love the fact that most of them aren’t that well known and were sung in churches/probably community halls and to real working people offering them hope, a positive messages and guidance to stay on a righteous and good path.
The tunes make me sit up and listen. So thanks again. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and healthy 2015 – BEST Jas :)
