Hi, I’m a UK chartered psychologist who has learned a great deal about how to deal with stress from personal experience as well as professional practice. Back in 2006, I experienced a prolonged period of work-related stress, leading to an episode of severe depression and the collapse of my business.
The problem is that many people have a very limited understanding of the nature and dangers of severe stress, how it can lead to chronic mental and physical conditions and how it can be totally managed and mastered – permanently without any reliance on things like prescription drugs, smoking or excess alcohol. We all have a “crack of least resistance” and chronic stress will find it unless you learn to recognise the early warning signs and know how to take positive, healthy action.
