Kevin W. Hughes, veteran/newcomer comedian (listen for an explanation), joined me to talk about his career in stand up comedy, ~15 years of which were spent on cruise ships, with a theme of best and worst cruise experiences.
Kevin shared some truly remarkable stories about his time with Bill Hicks, Carrot Top, and other national headliners, talked about some of the changes in comedy between the mid-80's and now, and gave us some insight into being diagnosed with autism at age 63 and coming out of retirement and back to the stage.
Kevin is a one-of-a-kind, laugh a minute guy with enough experiences to take up 100 episodes, but I'll be doing a part two soon to get to even more veteran comic/late-life diagnosis perspective.
Check out Kevin every Thursday at Dead Crow Comedy Club, performing his lecture "How Not To Lose Your Mind" on October 21st, and on the Walking in Parking Lots tour this Winter.
