Veteran's Day 2015 - Lift for the 22
Whether you personally served or not, you likely know a Veteran or have one among your family members. Today is a day reserved to remember, encourage and thank those who served. Often, it's easy to take our current lives, happiness, and abilities for granted. Many men and women have paid dear sacrifices for you to enjoy such things. Far too many have even paid the ultimate sacrifice.
A rather common statistic has been passed around recently. That is, an average of 22 US Veterans commit suicide per day.
Whether you completely agree with the statistic and how it's calculated or not, the point here is that ONE single suicide is one too many.
Today's Get Fit Friday podcast is featured on this Wednesday - Veteran's Day, 11 November 2015. I introduce you to Mr. Carter Davis, a US Navy Veteran on a mission to save Veterans' lives through physical fitness. He co-founded Lift for the 22 - a nonprofit organization which is doing just that.
