Vonda Paige is the executive director of the Tavis Smiley Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to leadership training and development for youth. At the foundation she is responsible for all administrative and management functions, fund development, program creation and delivery. Now in its 11TH year, the foundation has provided leadership training to more than 6,000 teens nationwide.
She is a 2010 fellow for the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE) and was named to Who’s Who in Black Los Angeles in 2009. She has earned awards for outstanding news and features reporting as a reporter and editor for The Associated Press, The News-Leader in Springfield , Missouri and The Progress-Index. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta and vice chair of the Virginia Tech Black Cultural Center Alumni Advisory Board.
A native of Virginia , she has a degree in journalism from Virginia Tech and a certificate in non-profit management from LaSalle University .
