Having not recorded for around three years, remembering how to count to 4 was far more challenging than expected. Despite that, and having to re-learn how to mix, it was a great fun to be in-session.
Q: Why 200 minutes (3 hours 20)?
A: I just don't think sixty minutes is sufficient enough time to take a listener on a real musical journey. Not only that but from a listener's perspective, I feel that an hour is merely a warm-up; it flies by. Only after an hour (or two) can you really hear the DJ's breadth/depth of selection, and musical understanding.
The following journey with Juma starts by showcasing the deeper, more percussive side of house before moving into some driving techno sounds. After an increase in tempo the listener comes in tune with a variety fundamentalist techno tracks: raw and sharp yet gritty and groovy. Finally the journey moves through some more classic and soulful tracks with a hint of acid before finishing with some much loved synth-fun, Italodisco.
