Matthew Agarwala speaks to Mike Stonard about a recently release study of Natural Capital. Matthew is the lead researcher behind the study and is the Senior Research Associate for the Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment (CSERGE) at the University of East Anglia. Matthew is also a doctoral researcher at the Grantham Research Institute and Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics.
Natural Capital is defined as the elements of the natural world that provide benefit for people. The publication suggests there's over $40 trillion worth of natural capital unaccounted for in the global economy, benefitting business' such as Puma & Gucci.
