Scott William Sunquist came to Fuller in 2012 after 17 years on the faculty of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Prior to that he served as a missionary in the Republic of Singapore, where he was a lecturer in church history, ecumenics, and Asian Christianity at Trinity Theological College, and pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Singapore. Dr. Sunquist’s main interests lie in Christian mission, evangelism, and world Christian history. His present research and writing focuses on historiography, missiology, and Christianity in the non-Western world. His most recent book, Understanding Christian Mission: Participation in Suffering and Glory (2013) received the Christianity Today 2014 Best Book award in the “Missions/Global Affairs” category. He is editor of A Dictionary of Asian Christianity (2001) and coauthor, with Dale Irvin, of History of the World Christian Movement, 2 vols. to date (2001, 2012).
