We open this week’s show with the death-ray drone of millions of 17-year cicadas from Brood II (no hippie whale music for us) and move on to quieter material: masterful piano jazz, a loony “message song” from 1974, music of which Wes Anderson would approve, early Bob Dylan, “indie” old and new, a 17th century ballad, Peter and the Wolf, songs about animals, and more, plus the TV theme with which we always ended our DJ sessions when we were doing it for fun instead of…well, for you.
It’s finally warm enough to swim. We’re ready to call it summer. We’d like some pie, please.
