"Nothing is free," "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't," and "anything worth having is worth paying for," are phrases many of us learn at a very young age. These phrases aim to teach us that the worth of an object, idea, or group is often tied to its cost: While this isn't always true, this is definitely true for the church.
