A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh.
As Christians we are commonly called "Believers". We do not just believe in a religion, or a system of values and ethics; we put our faith in a person, Jesus Christ. We do not rely on our works nor can we hope to gain our salvation by our own merit. Salvation is only by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
If this is our foundation, what are we supposed to do with our faith when we have to make key decisions or when there is a big need? Is exercising faith doing nothing but pray or do we need to step out and do something? What does discernment and cooperation in the Holy Spirit look like?
Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that
"... faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." How best can our minds, our hearts and our will work together to fulfill the purpose of God?
May God give us the faith that both rests in Him and works with Him!
