Is it possible to become an honorary Grinnellian? Hari Kondabolu thinks so. The Queens-born standup comedian returned to campus for the fifth straight year and performed this past weekend, and took a few moments to sit down with Erasing Boundaries between his solo standup set and his live Untitled Kondabolu Brothers podcast with his brother Ashok. He discusses what Grinnell has come to mean for him, the unique quality of audio in comedy, and his new album Waiting for 2042, which is now available via rock label Kill Rock Stars. His musings are interspersed with a smatter of his recorded jokes, plus some new songs from the likes of Jay Electronica, King Krule, Goldlink, and others.
