Sometimes, an Erasing Boundaries conversation gets really good once the microphones turn off. The first moments “on the record” are usually tests of trust, as the artist works to get a feel for whether the interview understands the vibe that the artist is trying to create. Once trust is established, the artist can open up and begin to share insight. me has a way of running out just as the interview starts to dig deep.
When Big K.R.I.T. first sat down with Erasing Boundaries back in Spring 2012, he was building his first major release, Live From The Underground, and was trying to build toward a new level of prominence while still maintaining creative control. 18 months later, he has cemented a place in the upper echelons of the genre, and is seizing the opportunity to expand his scope. With the trust already established, K.R.I.T. catches up with an old friend and shares his thoughts.
