Dr. J Presents... (Volume 19, Part 1)
It's time to take it down a notch and chill out. Spanning a bunch of genres and full of soul, this set is perfect for relaxing to. This mix is dedicated to anyone who has had (or is in the midst of) the somewhat gargantuan task of studying reflective practice, (hence the title.) If it's all getting a bit much, take some time out, whack this one on!
Part 1 kicks off on the more electronic side of the coin with an emphasis on bleeps and beats. However, this part of the mix doesn't neglect live instrumentation either with tracks from the new Zero 7 album, Marvin Gaye, Bonobo and Quantic and His Combo
Enjoy, Bárbaro to name but a few that make full use of playing skills, alongside the more synthesised pieces. This part has the stronger emphasis on hip-hop at its roots and you'll hear that at various times as you go.
In part, things take a more acoustic discourse: http://www.mixcloud.com/drjpresents/dr-j-presents-reflective-practice-part-2/
