God vs Satan - Round 1 - Part 1

God vs Satan - Round 1 - Part 1

Playing tracks by

Union Carbide Productions, Danzig, Queen Adreena, Archie Bronson Outfit, Josh Homme and PJ Harvey (Desert Sessions) and more.

A compilation/mix centred around the idea of God vs Satan, perhaps in a South Park/MTV kind of way. This is the first half of Round 1 - of a projected 3 rounds. You can draw your own conclusions from the music and lyrics about who, if anyone, wins at the end.

Make sure you listen to Part 2 for the conclusion of this round!

There is a loose story running from the beginning of the mix:

We begin in a void, from which the god creates his/her/itself (Here Comes God); god creates the devil (Heart of the Devil), who, in a kind of Gnostic setting, then creates human and animal life (Wolverines). Still retaining many animalistic traits, humans create an early form of pagan religion (Rituals), eventually re-creating the idea of god (Crawl Home), who they find to be other than what they had supposed (Big God). They are then tempted back towards the devil (Say Yes).

Humans feel abandoned by their creator (Manatees' Track 'II'), and go on to explore the idea of god, mostly in rebellious ways (Godhead, For The Love of God and Children of God).

Part 2 concludes this ridiculously convuluted story.
