Belladrum Space Mix 02 - Pop/Indie/Alternative

Belladrum Space Mix 02 - Pop/Indie/Alternative

Playing tracks by

Akron/Family, Elbow, Eddie vedder, Tasmin Archer, All Seeing I and more.

Circular mix made for the 'Space' theme for Belladrum festival 2011. This mix was made to be played on repeat on a CD, rather than just from beginning to end.

It was used in the Around group's stall to provide both atmosphere and entertainment. (The Around group are an eclectic fusion of artists, of which I am a part. There are around 20 or so people in the group, ranging from painters and sculptors to wood carvers and musicians. See for more information.)

Hi Gina,
Thanks again for your great comments!

Yeah, the links in Mixcloud just take you to other mixes (if there are any) with the same song in them, or the 'Buy' link takes you to Amazon or ITunes or 7 Digital. Still, Googling and Youtubing them always turns up more interesting stuff!

I did 4 mixes just so there was enough to play on our stall without getting bored. The original idea was for me to DJ (maybe continuously) for 2 days, but we weren't allowed a generator... so we ended with a CD player with batteries, and just these 4 mixes. I had a lot of stuff collected on the 'space' theme!

Who knows, maybe next time I'll get to DJ live, for two full days (that's still 5 days short of the world record!)

Wow, I can't help but adding more comments--it's the soundclouder in me, lol--but I am so LOVING these originals, stuff I either haven't heard before, or it's been ages, or by artists I've heard OF but not heard by. I see you did 3 similar looking mixes, guess you had too much good material to do just one, huh? :-)

Now that is a major mellow intro, have shared this out & fav'd it, listening to it all now, wish I could play the originals to compare, but the links from track list just go to your mix of them; I remember having to manually search for each one last time. Your original sources are always a fantastic source for new-to-me music. Thanks for sharing them.
