Don't take it seriously, it's just a bit of fun. DJ Hombre (me), Flipper Phil (I think he was there!) & JamieT in the mix round at Jamie's place a few years ago now. This was more a trip down memory lane to those early chopmixes we did in 1991 featuring TV shows, theme tunes, hip-hop & old skool randomly chucked together.
The premise of a chopmix is simple. Play as many odd & usually unplayed vinyl you have gathering dust, feel free to clean the records first, often forgotten - hence pops, clicks, scratches & generally rough sound. Try not to stick to any 1 genre. Swap DJs every 3rd record or so...it keeps the vibe going & takes the mix to places that 1 DJ wouldn't have ventured! The trend seems to be now, Jamie & Phil on Serato with me lugging vinyl along
Up until now, we haven't shared one of these sorts of mixes...however I've got stacks of these lined up, some better than others. Some from cassette, some from minidisc & some directly from HD.
