Part 4 - A tribute to my longest in-house residency, The Five-O Café. I DJ'ed there from 1996 until the doors closed in 2001. Five-O's biggest nights were Wednesdays (80s Night) and Sundays ($1 domestic beers). On the other nights it seemed it was a place to end up at after hitting other bars in the Raleigh NC area.
One of the best things about the Five-O (besides the people of course) was the music. On the weekends the musical spectrum reached from Funk to Soul to New Wave to Techno and back again. Each DJ had their own style and you never knew what was going to be heard next. I certainly learned a lot about Funk & Soul during my time there. This is just a small sample of what you would hear on the weekends, mixed together by yours truly.
Thank you to everyone at Five-O for giving me some of the best years of my life.
