Nurtured like a delicate red rose under the guidance of Uncle Jim Robertson, DJ John Spart is, in some ways, the ultimate modern dauphin - a fragile creature whose feet are allowed to float some way off the ground, so that his extreme genius may continue to flourish.
Throughout the mix, there's a raw, industrial aesthetic, but it's blanketed by a mix of elements which fill out the spectrum, whether with booty bass or deep blue warmth. It's lush enough to sink into, but you have to accept the fear.
In a period when, in every advanced country, on the pretext of anti-sex witchhunts and economic constraints, the need for DJ John Spart's declaration of the organic link between techno and human emancipation is as relevant as ever.
