Tribute to the radio presenter Ray Moore, BBC Radio 2, 1989

This moving tribute to one of my favourite radio presenters was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in 1989 following his untimely death.
He made his mark on the pre-breakfast 5am to 7am slot where he developed a cult following. Some great clips of his work here, including the legendary Bog Eyed Jog.

To continue: reflected the times in which it was made. Ray Moore was a great broadcaster and by all accounts a really nice guy. I interviewed Ken Bruce recently who said he was one of those heroes you meet in person who didn't disappoint.

A much missed broadcaster who had that intimate style and incredible humour only matched by the select through such as Terry Wogan.The tribute only tinged with the uneasy inclusion of Rolf Harris.
