Freestyle originated in the Latino communities of New York City in the mid-80s. The genre spread across greater New York and most U.S. urban areas. It was played primarily in dance clubs from the mid-80s to the early 90s. Some songs crossed over to Top 40 radio but most of it was underground and heard only in the clubs. The sound is a type of hip hop, with huge bass lines, loud drum stabs, heavy Latin percussion and rhythms, and electro-synthesizer horn attacks. Freestyle is easy to dance to and was the music of choice for break dancing. This mix features more freestyle favorites that packed my dance floors back in the day. Even today, I still get requests for freestyle music. So crank up the volume and enjoy Freestyle Frenzy 2! All songs re-edited and mixed by Davyjay. And if you want more, check out Freestyle Frenzy 1 on my channel. ENJOY!
