The son of a DJ and born into a jazz musician family, there was only a few ways that New Jersey legend Kerri Chandler was ever really going to go. For two decades now, he’s been one of the most dependable names in proper house music, exploring all avenues of the spectrum – from acid to afro to epic to funky to soulful to techy to computer game music reworks to straight-up, it’s always golden. This man lives and breathes house music, and it’s as much a driving force in his life as his spirituality (he says a prayer before each record he makes). The man has a huge, wonderfully rich catalogue of classic productions under his belt, and shows no signs of slowing.
We’re honoured (yes we’ve been saying that a lot recently, but we’ve been treated to some pretty legendary guests!) to have him provide a Podcast for us this week as part of our Bank Holiday double special, recorded live at one of his Redlight Basement parties. In these times of the revival of classically styled house music.
