Both a massively accomplished and producer of classics like Indicator, GODD, Red Blue Purple and the reworking of Jens’ Loops & Tings and one of the most dependable DJs in the world, Marco V is one of the most widely loved DJs to have emerged from the trance scene. The Dutch jock virtually invented tech-trance when he started dropping tracks in 2000, combining boshing, funk-fuelled techno grooves with the darker side of trance melody – but since then has continued to mix things up and pave the way for the others with a new take on the genre, like Sander Van Doorn.
There’s still occasionally flourishes of euphoric trance melody in his sets and productions, but it’s more about the sensibilities of the genre – big atmospherics, builds, drops, huge hooks – but applied to techno, electro house, prog and the ground that lies inbetween.
