The first 'Fundamental Principle' of the Olympic Charter stipulates that Olympism blends 'sport with culture and education', seeking to 'create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles'
Therefore, might I posit-
a) The IOC pays some tax.. even a teeny weeny bit. The games has cost Britain around £10,000,000,000
b) The special Olympic Lanes are for the exclusive use of athletes and officials
c) On the day the Olympics closes the British government generously offers to swap the Elgin Marbles for the replicas sitting in their purpose built museum. In these times of austerity such a magnanimous gesure would show the world why we are GREAT Britain
Limited edition packaging to follow at the close of the games, hq audio also available on request
